Internet Access

Connecting to the Internet
 
You can use your Dog ‘n’ Bone card to connect to the Internet. We do not provide an e-mail address but you can use our service to send and receive web-based e-mail from other providers.
 
Creating your Dog ‘n’ Bone Dial Up Account for Windows XP:

Click: Start
Click: Control Panel
If not already there, switch to: Classic View
Double-click: Network Connections
Click: Create A New Connection
Click: Next
Click: Connect To The Internet
Click: Set Up My Connection Manually
Click: Connect Using A Dial-Up Modem
Type Dognbone,
Click: Next
Type  1414,,,PIN Number,,461,
Click: Next
N.B. PIN Number is the 11 digit number you will find on the back of your Dog ’n’ Bone Account Card under the scratch off panel.
Click: Anyone’s Use and Next
Type: 1460net@1460.net into User Name
Type: creative into Password and Confirm Password
Tick the two boxes underneath
Click: Next
Tick box to add short-cut to desktop

If you have any problems connecting to our service e-mail us at support@dognbonezone.co.uk or call our Internet support line during office hours, Monday to Friday by dialling 1414 then your pin number, then 466, calls charged at 1p per minute.



Some Important Do’s and Dont’s

Do... ensure that you have credit on your card before each internet session. See ‘Payment’ for details on how to add money to your account.

Do... ensure your modem is set for a connection timeout of at least 120 seconds. If you have problems connecting your modem settings may be at fault.

Do... e-mail us at support@dognbonezone.co.uk if you need further help getting connected or call our internet support line during office hours, Monday to Friday by dialling 1414 then your pin number, then 466.

Don't... use the phone cable from the phone in your student room to plug into the back of your modem. You must use the cable that came with your PC modem and unplug the phone.

Do... look around the Dog ‘n’ Bone website for information on our products and services.
